Elise has a diverse class that incorporates an energetic flow with optional advanced poses and a wonderfully sweet meditative end to each class. Her philosophy is that we all go through so much in life, we should all leave class feeling calm and ready to take on the next challenge or just let it go.
Although she doesn’t have an accent, Elise grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and there is still some Southern charm in her teaching. Her first yoga class was in 2000 with her mother back in North Carolina. She was hooked once in Savasana. The realization that her mind had quieted down for the first time was life altering. In 2006 she took her 200 HR certification with Jimmy Barkan of the Barkan Method in Ft. Lauderdale FL. This started it all, and since then, Elise has gone on to take multiple trainings including her Level 2 Training with Jimmy Barkan, Dynamic Meditation Teacher Training, and now has SUP Yoga certifications. All adding to her teaching skills and making her a unique addition to the studio.
Moving to Colorado from North Carolina in 2008, she worked in Boulder teaching and working as a graphic designer with the ski lovers at Warren Miller Entertainment, and Skiing Magazine. After working in the busy paced world of the front range, the mountains called, and she moved up to the Vail area in 2012.
When Elise isn’t teaching, she works at the local 970 Design advertising and design studio managing clients, and truly having fun with her creative coworkers. She also runs her own business to fully express her own creativity by making hats, and custom t-shirt designs for her company Double Black Designs. In the summer you can also find this busy being in the evenings on Nottingham Lake in Avon, CO in the summer teaching people the fun new practice of SUP yoga.
