Seasonal Sequencing Training with Julia Clarke

Take your classes to the next level with this groundbreaking approach to sequencing based on Ayurvedic theory with Julia Clarke M.S. Ayurveda. Yoga’s sister science teaches the concept of “Ritucharya,” or using food, routine and herbs as medicine to stay balanced through the changing seasons, but conversely, our yoga practices often remain the same summer to winter. This training re-integrates yoga and Ayurveda, taking essential Ayurvedic theory and applying it to sequencing based on the foundational concept of “vishesha,” or balancing with opposites. Explore common imbalances invoked by the change of seasons and learn practical but powerful strategies to tailor your classes to tame the high winds of anxiety produced by Fall, ignite the heaviness of Spring, and cool the heat of Summer. This training takes your sequencing to all-new levels of sensitivity and provides your students with a resource whose power is recognizable in their day-to-day lives.

Through practical application and study, we will explore the following topics:

  • Introduction to Ayurveda
  • Five Element Theory
  • Tridosha Theory
  • Yoga Asanas Through the Lens of the Five Elements
  • Sequencing for the Seasons
  • Refined Cuing to Support the Flow
  • Introduction to Pranayama and Marma Chikitsa
